I just took a quick excursion to Maui for a sweet taste of kiteboarding. I've been wanting to learn the sport for a few years now, so I set off to the familiar island and took a lesson to get the basics down. Although I didn't even get up on a board... there's a lot more to it that riding a board...learning about the power of the wind was fascinating and I had fun with the kite dragging me through the water. Oh and I did manage to get the kite stuck in a tree, my instructor took full responsibility though. I'm already pondering a follow-up trip to accomplish my goal and get up on the board and let the wind take me away...not too far though.
